About This Project
“The Truth That Made Us” was created to share the moments that shape who we become.
Every life holds experiences that leave a permanent mark on us. Some of those moments are joyful. Some are painful. Some change the direction of our lives in ways we could never have predicted.
Often we carry those experiences quietly, believing that no one else could understand them.
But the truth is, many of the moments that shape us are more universal than we realize.
The purpose of this project is simple:
To create a place where people can share the moments that shaped their lives.
Some stories will be about survival.
Some will be about loss.
Some will be about hope, healing, and second chances.
Every story matters.
Why This Project Exists
The idea for this space grew out of a moment from my own life.
When I was five years old, the day before my sixth birthday, I drowned in a swimming pool.
I was underwater long enough to be pronounced dead several times on the way to the hospital. I spent three months in a coma and nearly a year in the hospital recovering.
It was an experience that should have been terrifying.
Instead, it was one of the most peaceful moments I have ever experienced.
That moment shaped my life in ways I am still discovering.
And it is one of the truths that made me who I am today.
A Place for Real Stories
“The Truth That Made Us” exists because every person carries moments like this.
Moments that changed something inside them.
Moments that tested them.
Moments that revealed something about who they are.
This project invites people to share those stories.
Some contributors will choose to share their names.
Others may choose to remain anonymous.
Both are welcome.
Because the purpose of this space is not recognition.
The purpose is connection.
Your Story Matters
If you have experienced a moment that shaped who you became, your story deserves a place in the world.
It may help someone feel understood.
It may help someone feel less alone.
It may even help someone find the strength to keep going.
If you would like to share your story, you are welcome to do so here:
